Introduction to Animal Science. What is Animal Sciences? Animal Science is a field of Agriculture which deals with the husbandry practices of livestock species including cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, camels, horses, donkeys and several other. The term livestock is used for farm animals. Major courses offered in animal science degrees are animal breeding and genetics, animal nutrition, livestock management and poultry science.

His innovative research is crucial in the quest to find sustainable alternatives to antibiotics, aiming to mitigate the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria—a significant concern for both animal and human health. By leveraging computational analyses alongside in-depth in vitro and in vivo studies, Paul is at the forefront of identifying microbiome modulations that can protect piglets from enteric infections during this vulnerable phase. In addition to his groundbreaking research, Paul plays a vital role in the academic community as a mentor to undergraduate students, fostering an environment of growth and collaboration. His commitment to the future of animal sciences extends through his participation as a Fellow of the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR), where he engages in professional development programs with a diverse group of graduate students from the United States and Canada.
