The NBA 2K League has announced a new process for tryouts for the upcoming season. It is scheduled to begin in 2021. The new format will offer over 35 Pro-Am tournaments hosted and managed by NBA 2K League teams. The winners will be showcased in a League-hosted "NBA 2K League Draft Prospect Series" and the first-of-its-kind NBA 2K League Combine.

It's the next step in the NBA 2K League's rapid growth. Brendan Donohue (Managing Director of NBA 2K League) described the new league to me on a phone call as "transformational".

This season, the second season of NBA 2K League edition, saw an enormous increase in both viewership and distribution. "Just Comparing apples to apples the broadcasts we stream on Twitch are up by 70% from year to year," Donohue outlines, "and in addition to this, we added several distributors all over the world and also ESPN 2."
