I would normally agree in the event of paying lip service to social issues without also putting money and support to advocate for mut 21 coins change or applying it to the organization and their job at the very least. That said police brutality isn't exactly something that a company like EA throwing cash at the issue does considerably towards fixing. At best they put money towards the lawyers and groups that fight to see justice after the truth or lobby to have laws changed that in the current government will not. It has systemic issues within police of not reporting their own and holding them accountable instead staying quiet and with the authorities unions which allow it all to happen or in a sense even encourage it by the consequences being a slap on the wrist followed by being hired in a different precinct showing them there's no consequences. Before even getting to laws and rulings like qualified immunity which shield abusive cops and permit them to abuse their power freely. The majority of that EA and most capitalist companies aren't able to perform all that much about making it unfair to state they're in the best possible position to do more.

The ones in the best possible position to do more are the assumed great cops by no more remaining quiet and allowing bad cops to get away with their misuse of power or voting to get superior leadership for their marriages which won't enable the behaviour. However, of course it is just words. Businesses will only ever do these things once public opinion has turned into one way. Because after decades of corporations doing things for the wrong reason, people are extremely cynical. Even if all businesses stopped doing things wrong, it'll take a longlong time for this picture of corporate America to lose its tarnish. Part of what people might do is pick politicians that at least promise they'll hold these corporations accountable. It probably won't happen alone. This would be much easier if a person like that could run for office .

Because regardless of this sentiment, this is still 100 percent a company and marketing maneuver. If they truly wanted to do something positive, they could do it without marketing their merchandise while doing so. Because it's not genuine. This is no different than the coronavirus advertisements. They might have said nothing in any way. Instead, they brought positive attention to the protests. That is good. Solidarity or they realize a decent chunk of the audience is obsessed with something more important than a damn videogame? Man. These comments really emphasize the nihilistic nature of reddit users. Yes, this is a company. Yes, it's something to do with marketing. However, Jesus, can't we be happy that companies are saying something? Do you not understand how much of an impact this could make? In the event the company ignored the situation, it might give every checked out mind the buy Mut 21 coins concept that what is happening is normal and routine.
