I spend at least two hours daily stuck in stop and go traffic just crawling along. My poor car probably hates me. I notice the temperature gauge creeps up sometimes when I'm sitting still for too long and I worry about the strain on the engine and transmission. A colleague mentioned that city driving is actually harder on vehicles than highway driving and I should look into specific vehicle care tips for city drivers. He shared an article that explains how frequent braking, short trips, and idling affect different components. The information apparently covers things like brake pad wear and cooling system maintenance which makes sense given my daily commute struggles. Does anyone else drive in heavy city traffic daily and have a maintenance routine that helps their car survive the abuse?
