CONDUCTION CONVECTION AND RADIATION OF HEAT ENERGY

CONDUCTION

Conduction of heat is the process by which heat is transfer on a solid material from high temperature area to low temperature area without the physical movement of the heated particle.

Example of good conductors of Heat are

All METALS i.e Copper, Aluminium , Silver, Iron etc.

Wood and Paper are example of Bad Conductors of Heat

CONVECTION

Convection of Heat is the process by which heat energy is transferred in a liquid or gas by the actual movement of the heated particles.

Example of convection is Land breezes during the night and Sea breezes during the day

Movement of water molecules during boiling is also example of convection of heat.

RADIATION

Radiation is the process by which heat energy is transfer from one body to another without any medium for the transfer of the heat energy.

Both convection and conduction require medium for the transfer of heat but radiation needs no medium

Example of radiation of heat is energy is the energy from sun through space.

Application of heat energy radiation is found in vacuum flask or thermos flask.
