Heat is a form of energy that flow from an area of high temperature to an area of low temperature.

Heat Energy is also known as Thermal Energy

Temperature is defined as the degree of hotness or coldness of a substance.

How To Produce Heat

1. By friction. When two substances are rubbed together , heat is produced
2. Solar heat . Heat is produced  directly from Sun.
3. Chemical reaction . Burning of carbon substances or reaction between two chemicals generate heat energy.                                                                                                                                                                           

Effect of Heat on State of Matter

Heat causes the following effects on state of matter.

1. Change of state e.g Melting and Boiling
2. Expansion
3. Chemical changes
4. Change in physical properties e.g burning of wood
5. Change in pressure in a confine space
6. Thermionic Emission
