The slope of a Distance-Time graph is = Velocity

The slope of a Speed-Time Graph is = Acceleration

From the definition of uniform Acceleration earlier discussed.

when a = v/t = constant throughout the movement then it is called Uniform Acceleration .

When a is not constant then it is non-uniform Acceleration.

therefore in the Velocity-Time Graph in FIG 3 above 

    = Constant

When the acceleration is not constant or non-uniform acceleration as shown in FIG 4. 

The Acceleration at any point on the graph is the slope of the graph at that point.
