The slope of a Distance-Time graph is = Velocity

The slope of a Speed-Time Graph is = Acceleration

From the definition of uniform velocity earlier discussed.

when v = s/t = constant throughout the movement then it is called Uniform velocity .

When v is not constant then it is non-uniform speed or average speed.

therefore in the Displacement-Time Graph in FIG 1 above 

    = Constant

When the velocity is not constant or non-uniform velocity as shown in FIG 2. 

The velocity at any point on the graph is the slope of the graph at that point.
