The derived units of quantity identified by the International System of Units are all defined as COMBINATION of base SI units. A derived quantity can  be expressed in terms of one or more base quantity .

Example

The unit of Area is obtained by mutiplying two units of Lenght  , meter x meter

while the units of Volume is meter x meter x meter
