A Journey to Audiology: Where Science Meets Art - LEAP Links Video Conference
33 views
Mridula will briefly discuss her journey from when she wanted to be everything (a pilot, a long distance runner, a lawyer and on occasion, drama queen) to how she discovered Audiology. She will talk about the various roles Audiologists undertake and how they contribute to society. She will also discuss what makes Audiology a prime example of a balanced lifestyle, where science meets art. Prior to commencing her appointment with Macquarie University, Mridula was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Psychology (Speech Science Division) within the University of Auckland in New Zealand. The focus of her research was in improving diagnosis and targeting interventions in order to achieve better outcomes for school-aged children with auditory processing disorders.
Mridula has a dual degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and worked clinically in both capacities in India for 5 years before commencing her PhD at Macquarie University. Mridula has had the opportunity to work in India, USA, New Zealand and Australia.
